October 24th, 2023 will mark the 15th annual International Day of Climate Action. The International Day of Climate Action came to be in 2009 as one of the first global days of action organized by 350.org in order to connect climate activists and organizations around the world.
Here at Iowa IPL, climate action is at the core of our work. As people of faith and conscience, we are called to be stewards of the land we live on; we are called to climate action.
Climate action comes in many different forms. Here are just a few ways you can take climate action today:
- Endorse our faith statement – By signing on to our faith statement, you are not only supporting the work of Iowa IPL, but also using your voice to speak up for a sustainable, equitable, and just environment in our state.
- Attend Called To Climate Action – Register for our annual fall event, Called To Climate Action, taking place this Saturday, October 28th from 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM at Grinnell College. The event is free to attend and will include environmental workshops, a keynote speaker, a catered meal, and more.
- Make a gift to Iowa IPL – We cannot do what we do without the generous gifts of our donors. We hope you’ll consider making a donation in honor of the International Day of Climate Action.
There are always opportunities for climate action, big and small. We hope you’ll join us in recognizing the International Day of Climate Action by taking climate action today!
