As Earth Month approaches and the 55th Earth Day nears, we find ourselves at a crucial moment. Climate change continues to pose unprecedented challenges to our planet, and it is imperative that we act. Iowa IPL invites you to join us in a collective effort to protect and preserve the precious gift of our environment.

In celebration of Earth Month and in recognition of the vital support from our community,

Iowa IPL is excited to announce that a group of donors will match all donations up to $10,000.

This means that your contribution in April will have double the impact, amplifying our efforts to address the climate crisis and promote environmental justice.

Iowa IPL emphasizes four focus areas, united by sharing our climate narrative. Faith Farms & Climate convenes farmers and rural faith leaders to explore faith-driven climate action, empowering them to lead on climate solutions. Advocacy spans renewable energy, clean water, energy efficiency, climate-smart agriculture, and environmental justice. Teaching educates individuals on uniting faith with climate action.

For the past five years, Iowa IPL has gathered college students in Iowa through our Called To Climate Action (CTCA) student leadership program, where students merge their passion for climate justice with their faith, shaping their futures. Our program’s alumni come from colleges across Iowa: from Luther to Graceland, from Dordt to St. Ambrose, and more. We see investing in these young leaders as crucial for both their personal development and the planet’s future.

“Called to Climate Action has been instrumental in my career. It truly broadened my horizons, exposed me to a massive career field, and helped me find my purpose. I will forever be thankful for the relationships and connections I have made through CTCA and Iowa IPL, and will always value them.” – Claira Miller, 2021 CTCA student leader

CTCA serves as a beacon, offering students a platform to deepen their understanding of faith’s role in climate action. Equipped with resources and knowledge, participants advocate for meaningful change. Emphasizing leadership, CTCA ensures they become influential voices in the climate fight, shaping crucial discourse.

“The program helped me recognize the growing community of passionate young people about climate action. After this program, I got much more involved in the climate movement.” – Jake Jansen, 2019 CTCA student leader

To enhance our impact, we’re pausing this summer to strengthen the program and expand its reach. This includes engaging more students through campus visits and launching an improved version of CTCA in 2024-25. With your help, Iowa IPL will magnify CTCA’s influence, fostering a generation of dedicated climate advocates.

Your gift this April will kickstart CTCA’s rebuild, impacting future climate leaders.

Join us in cultivating a sustainable, equitable future through expanding our student leadership programming by making a donation today.

“Through conscious choices like energy conservation and responsible consumption, I will bridge the gap between my beliefs and actions. Locally, I want to initiate projects that resonate with faith-driven climate justice, such as environmental cleanups, climate education, and nature focused prayer. Armed with insights and an unwavering commitment, I am ready to forge a future where faith, environmental justice, and climate action seamlessly intersect.“ – Nazma Noray, 2023 CTCA student leader

Together, let us sow the seeds of hope and resilience, knowing that our collective efforts today will bear fruit for generations to come. Thank you for your dedication and gift to this vital cause.
