Iowa IPL Board President, Rob Hogg, lobbying for a sustainable future

As Iowa IPL’s board president, I’m getting ready to take the train to Washington, D.C. to join our executive director for a national Interfaith Power & Light conference and lobby day in early May.

I’m grateful for all that Iowa IPL does to respond to the climate crisis and to help us build a more sustainable future that protects God’s Creation and all of us as God’s children:

– Faith Farms & Climate to build understanding and support for climate solutions on the farm and in rural communities which benefit carbon released into the atmosphere and our waterways.

– Our student leadership program to give young people more hope that they can live out their calling to a lifetime of climate action.

– Clean energy tips for homes and congregations to save money and reduce pollution.

– Direct action that calls on MidAmerican Energy to close its six coal-burning plants by 2030 to help meet the minimum goals of the Paris Agreement.

– Advocacy with elected officials for the sustainable agriculture, clean energy, clean water, and climate justice policies we need to achieve a sustainable future for all.

I’m also grateful for your support, which makes it possible to hire staff and provide the resources they need for their work across Iowa. I pray that God will bless them and protect them in their work on our behalf.

We still have time to meet our April matching goal of $10,000. Please contribute today, and I look forward to reporting back on our trip to D.C.

Faithfully,

Rob Hogg
