Eco-project Overview
A growing number of congregations and faith-based organizations (e.g. camps) are engaged in sustained efforts to make their settings sustainable, educational, and inspiring. Below are examples of Iowa-based projects created with a focus on sustainability, climate change, resilience, ecological care, and/or education.

We were part of the Cool Congregations that existed here in Cedar Falls over a decade ago. Since that time our whole congregation has become committed to environmentally friendly practices after some related educational activities. Geothermal heating/cooling was installed, lights were replaced with LED bulbs, only real dishes/silverware are used for food serving with use of our dishwasher, low-flow toilets were installed, a prairie was planted and is maintained, two bike racks were installed, and volunteers recycle paper, plastic, cardboard that is collected in bins in the kitchen and office.
