Eco-project Overview
A growing number of congregations and faith-based organizations (e.g. camps) are engaged in sustained efforts to make their settings sustainable, educational, and inspiring. Below are examples of Iowa-based projects created with a focus on sustainability, climate change, resilience, ecological care, and/or education.

We have a community food closet. This is a partnership with several other congregations in the area. We have a few tomatoes plants in a raised bed that are shared and folks from the neighborhood share their produce. Every Friday we receive food from a local event center and that is repackaged into biodegradable containers. This year we have kept hundreds of pounds of food out of the landfill and have provided nutritious food to our neighbors through our food closet and others in the area. We also have a bed of native plants to support pollinators and biodiversity.
