Download These Reflections for Hanukkah
Chag urim sameach! This free resource offers eight nights of reflection, connection, and simple steps toward caring for our world. Each night highlights a core Hanukkah theme such as light, resilience, justice, and joy, and links it to a simple, practical climate action that households or communities can take together. Whether used individually or in community, these reflections are meant to deepen the light of Hanukkah and extend it into acts of hope for our shared planet.
Synagogues and Jewish organizations are encouraged to customize the reflections by adding notes about their own programs, social action projects, or local environmental efforts. Families might use the reflections to spark conversation at candlelighting, share stories or photos with relatives, or post their nightly actions on social media to inspire others. We’d love to hear what creative things you do with this resource!
Each night includes:
• A brief grounding text
• A short, 2-paragraph reflection
• A simple family or individual action
• A kavannah (intention) for candle lighting
