Iowa IPL Executive Director, Irene, at her polling place after voting early in the 2024 general election.

Shortly after turning 18, my mom took me to the county auditor’s office to register to vote. While my voting record isn’t perfect, I’ve come to appreciate the importance of voting in every election—and that understanding deepens every year. Voting is a bold, just act of climate action and hope for our future.

Tomorrow, we have the privilege of voting (unless you voted early or by mail). On our ballots are the next President of the United States who will represent us in the House of Representatives in Congress, numerous state elected officials in Iowa, county officials, and two constitutional amendments.

Here’s some information and links to help making voting easier:

     – You can look at who and what’s on the ballot by entering your address on Ballotpedia.

     – If you aren’t sure where your polling place is, click HERE.

     – If you recently moved and haven’t changed your address on your state ID, click HERE to make sure you have the right documents.

     – To track your absentee ballot, click HERE.

     – If you requested and received an absentee ballot and haven’t sent it in, you can surrender your absentee ballot at your polling place on Election Day and vote using a regular ballot.

     – If you can’t surrender your absentee ballot, you can vote using a provisional ballot. For more information on absentee ballots click HERE.

     – And, if you haven’t registered to vote, you can do so in Iowa with same day in-person registration during early voting and Election Day. Click HERE for what you need.

I hope you’ll join me in taking climate action by voting tomorrow. Your voice and vote matter.

With hope for our future,

Irene
