We all have climate stories that shape our lives. Stories are a powerful tool for building connection and community, sharing climate-friendly practices, and cultivating hope. Talking about them helps us to be resilient and prepared in the midst of uncertainty.
That’s why Iowa Interfaith Power & Light holds “Faith Farms and Climate” events in four communities around the state each year. These gatherings bring people of faith and conscience together for a meal and conversation about the intersection of faith, farming, and climate action. We believe in lifting up the important role farmers and faith leaders play as we tackle together the climate crisis affecting our towns. Plus, our conversations together will form the basis of future summer and fall programming that others will benefit from, too.
If you’re a farmer or faith leader and would like a seat at the table for one of these upcoming conversations – or if you know a faith leader or farmer who we should connect with – I’d love to chat soon.
