An Online Webinar

Monday, October 5
12 – 1 PM via Zoom

Leader: Rev. Karla Detweiler, M. Div

Worship that proclaims God’s faithfulness to all of creation sustains our hope and empowers our actions. It is a gift that faith communities can offer to our struggling planet.

In this interactive workshop, we’ll consider ways of shaping worship to express the laments, confessions, and praises of human and more-than-human creatures, and that opens us to receive God’s word of hope and healing. We’ll share resources for various seasons, introduce the Season of Creation, and invite participants to identify ways of attending to the voice of creation in their own worship settings.

Rev. Karla Detweiler is a Chaplain at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. An ordained minister in the Mennonite Church USA, she was formerly the Climate Justice Coordinator for that denomination. Karla is a member of our Speakers Bureau, has been a workshop leader at our Called to Climate Action conference, and was among our speakers for the first Climate-informed Ministry Cohort.
